Overview

Past problems provide us with a history of online databases. There are numerous problems with databases, and databases are constantly evolving as the public responds to threats on their privacy. It is critical to examine these examples and the issues they raise to correctly identify the problems that exist and to evaluate any solutions that are proposed. In this section, we examine who has access to these databases (you may be surprised) and database security. We also look at what kinds of information are collected and how the are and might be used.
