Computer hardware is among the most rapidly evolving technical fields. While the speed and cost of personal computing have been continually improving over the last two decades, the number of bits in a processor has only recently increased from 32 to 64 bits.

The computing industry is now on the cusp of a revolution, one which will allow the mainstream user to access more RAM, achieve higher levels of scientific precision, and perform technical tasks that would never have been feasible before.

This project was developed as part of Professor Eric Roberts’ Sophomore College class entitled “The Intellectual Excitement of Computer Science” in 2005.
