Welcome to Internet2 Demystified! Constructed by three Stanford University Sophomores, this website aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Internet2 technology and its applications, specifically the work being done at Stanford University. In this project, we explore the architecture of Internet2 and Next Generation Internet, and how these new capabilities have opened up avenues for exciting new applications, particularly in the medical field. We study briefly the origins of these new high-speed networks, and outline the hardware and software developments that were required to make these networks a success. We also address the advancements that these technologies have allowed multi-media learning and telesurgery in the medical fields to make.
