The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

The origins of OECD date back to 1960, which is when 18 European countries along with the United States and Canada created an organization with the goal of global development. The OECD uses its wealth of information to help various governments fight poverty with economic growth and financial stability. The OECD currently consists of 34 member countries, with many of them being some of the worldÕs most advanced countries. It also includes a few emerging economies such as Mexico and Chile. Together, this organization works to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
