Your worst nightmares come true. LOGO the MEDIC is released two months earlier than expected; KAREL the NURSE requires four months to make over. LOGO has consumed most of the market, and the few remaining hospitals that have not been touched refuse to buy your product after hearing about the recall of your initial release. Bankrupt, you are forced to lay off all of your employees; you simply can't afford to pay them anymore. Disheartened by the cruelty of capitalism, you search for a new career, a new calling in life
Before you get a chance to revel about a new career, you hear a knock at your office door. A mysterious package from the CPSR lies across the threshold. In it lies a certificate of honor recognizing you for your dedication to software integrity. The award is followed by a letter nominating you as the new CPSR president. It seems the former president was tragically struck by a construction machine on his way to teach a class. In any event, you delightfully accept the nomination and begin a bright career of fighting computer injustice.
