Travel and Lodging

We understand that booking flights, hotels, and cars can be a frustrating task. Because we would love everyone to make it out to Maui, we'll do our best to ease the travel booking process. Our favorite sites for checking the best airfare include Farechase and Farecast. We check these sites regularly and have picked up great deals in the past. The good deals are definitely out there and there's still a bit of time to be patient and wait. If you decide to book a trans-pacific flight on Hawaiian Airlines, we've joined their "Wedding Wings" program to give guests 5% off their ticket. Unfortunately this only applies to trans-pacific flights, so interisland flights are ineligible for the discount. Click here to visit their site. We've reserved a really good block rate at The Kapalua Villas which are conveniently within the Kapalua Resort and offer free shuttle service to all locations within the resort including the Ritz Carlton. The beaches in the area are more secluded and less touristy than more popular destinations such as Kaanapali, Lahaina, and Wailea. See below for more details.

Renting a car is highly recommended on the island - driving is easy going and parking is usually free (except for Lahaina, which has limited parking). However, car rentals are not required - there is plenty of stuff to do within the Kapalua resort and many tours in other parts of the island offer shuttle service from Kapalua Resort.

Airports

The largest airport on Maui is Kahului Airport (OGG) and many major airlines offer direct flights from the mainland. Kahului Airport is about 45 minutes from the Kapalua Resort, so you will need to rent a car or book a taxi service for transportation.

Also on the island is Kapalua Airport (JHM) that is much closer (about 10 minutes) to the Kapalua Resort. The Kapalua Villas (more information below) provides free shuttle service to and from the Kapalua Airport. While only inter-island flights service this airport, some airlines (e.g. Hawaiian Air) offer connecting service through other Hawaiian airports.

We have secured a block at The Kapalua Villas, located within the Kapalua Resort. These one and two bedroom villas offer private lanais, complete kitchens, washer/dryer, televisions with VCR, and ceiling fans. Nearly all of the villas feature central air conditioning. They also offer complimentary resort-wide shuttle service, so you don't have to drive to or from the ceremony and reception. The Gold Villas are recently rennovated, more luxurious, and offer state-of-the-art appliances, fine linens, and granite countertops.

If we can book 8 or more rooms, they will guarantee us the following room rates. Per person, we think these are some of the best rates on the island. All prices are per villa per night and are inclusive of tax. Also included is $37.5 per night of resort credit ($75 for two or three night's stay or $150 for four or more nights). All rates are inclusive of tax and are on a non-commissionable basis. All rates are per villa per night and have a maximum of four person(s) occupancy for a one-bedroom villa and have a maximum of six person(s) occupancy for a two-bedroom villa. All villas have one queen pull-out bed and all bedrooms have one king, one queen, or two double beds.

4 nights stay includes: $150 Resort Credit per villa
  • Resort Credit is good towards the following: Kapalua Golf Courses and Pro Shops, Kapalua Golf Academy, Kapalua Tennis Garden, Kapalua Adventures, any on resort dining venue that can be charged back to a villa room account and on resort shopping in all establishments that can be charged back to villa account. The credit is not valid towards room, resort fee or room tax. No refunds for any unused portion of the voucher.

Reservations:
Call the Kapalua Resort Reservations Department at (800) 545-0018 M-F during regular Hawaii business hours 8am - 5pm HST. Guest must identify themselves as attendees of the Crystal/Jonathan Wedding Group. Individuals are responsible for room, tax, resort fee, porterage, &ammp; incidental charges. All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied with a two night deposit of room & tax, with a major credit card. The balance will be due at time of check out and will be automatically be charged to the guests' credit card.
