I got my undergraduate degree from stanford in CS and for my senior project worked with Professor David Dill on formal verification of floating point artihmetic in hardware using PVS.

In 2005, I got the crazy idea to come back to Stanford and get a Masters degree in CS, through the SCPD program for part time engineering students. I spent way too much time hanging out with these fine folks, thurstonating laptops when I should have been publishing on eventual consistency, but it led to some magazine article and a segment on the discovery channel. Somehow, I still managed to graduate with a specialization in Databases.

I currently work as a Principal Engineer at Flickr building scalable, distributed data systems and just generally being awesome. The SAM program occasionally smuggles me back on campus to warp the minds of current students and offer snarky career advice.
