I'm currently working as a Software Engineer in the Ads team @twitter. Some of the problems I'm working on include: building tweet models for ad policy violation, risk prediction.
My areas of interest include:
Before joining Twitter, I worked at Apple Inc. for 2 years in the Advanced Analytics team trying to solve automatic fraud detection on the iTunes Store, improving base map data using traffic probes by detecting popular routes, one-ways.
I graduated from Stanford University with an MS in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence specialization). While at Stanford, I was a member of Shah lab in the Biomedical Informatics Research division where I worked on large datasets to predict outcomes, off-label usage, drug-disease relations. I was also part of the 'Dialogue Systems' team at Center for Study of Language and Information (CSLI) at Stanford as a research assistant where I worked on analyzing speech to detect emotional stress. The work done was accepted at SIGDIAL '10. I also TA'ed Information Retrieval and Web Search course taught by Prof. Pandu Nayak and Prof. Prabhakar Raghavan.
Prior to joining Stanford, I was part of the Adobe Connect team at the Adobe R&D Center in Noida, India. I joined Adobe in July 2007 immediately after graduating from BITS, Pilani, India (where I pursued B.E.(Hons.) Computer Science (03-07)). I was a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Institute, Bangalore, India (MSRI) before joining Adobe Systems. I was part of the Multi-Lingual Systems group at MSRI where I worked under of the guidance of Jagadeesh Jagarlamudi on Document Summarization. The aim of the project was to look at how using document probability distributions would help us generate better summaries. We successfully came up with a generation technique and submitted a paper at PACLIC '09 (PDF). I was also selected for a six week fellowship (Young Science Fellowship Programme) conducted by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India (which is annually awarded to 15-20 of the brightest students in the entire country).
