Guha Jayachandran, Ph.D. ------------------------ Guha has enjoyed working on problems in a variety of fields. He was a founder of Cruxlux, which developed innovative new search and semantic technologies (acquired by Kosmix). Previously, he served lead developer and project manager roles for the Folding@Home project, which leverages the computers of individual volunteers worldwide to perform simulations probing protein biophysics, relevant to various diseases. The project grew during his tenure into the most powerful computing resources in the world. Recently, he created and led the Get On The Shelf contest and web series for Walmart Labs. Currently, he serves as CEO of Onai, leading its world-class global team. Guha earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from Stanford University. His doctoral work earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with Ph.D. Minor in Chemistry. He has published many papers and patents and given numerous invited talks, including at S.F. Bay ACM, IIT Madras, and ACS. A theme of his older work on visual illusions was that thoughts define subjective experience. He has been named a Siebel Scholar, NDSEG Fellow, and California Byrd Scholar, among other honors. His various personal interests often overlap, such as applying AI to identifying raga in Indian classical music, to animal communication and conservation, and to martial arts. He is particularly interested in ways of empowering dedicated teachers and clinicians to provide excellent education and care to all.
