Biography

 

I was born in Beijing, China. Then I spent the first sixteen years of my life in Chengdu, a beautiful city in Sichuan province.
After that, my parents and I immigrated to America. I attended Princeton University, New Jersey for college as a physics major.
In 1999 to 2000, I spent the most memorable year of my life in Tibet doing Tibetan medicine research.
I received the Ph.D. degree from California Institute of Technology in Feb 2005. I was advised by Profs. Pietro Perona and Christof Koch.
I am now an associate professor in the Computer Science Dept.at Stanford University, where I am the director of the Vision Lab.
