OMG it’s an MMOG!

Social and Economic Evolution of Online Gaming

Welcome to Sam and Ben’s Most Excellent Adventure

The Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) has grown into mainstream culture.  Games such as Everquest, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft can be found on almost any young adult’s or child’s computer.  With the significant growth in the last nine years, MMOGs have quickly changed from simple text driven programs to intense, real-time, high-paced games.  The effects of this new culture are quickly becoming evident.  New international online languages have been developed, a new facet to the economic has been discovered, a new online community with different styles of discourse has been created, and new social impacts are starting to appear.

This website was created to explore the MMOG and its current effect on society.  To navigate this website, please click on the navigation buttons on the left side of the screen.
