A company party is scheduled for tonight to celebrate the smashing success of KAREL. Before you leave for the gala event, you receive an emergency call from your attorney. An unforseen error has occurred with KAREL at a hospital in Montana.

Due to a coding error, KAREL switched the drug prescriptions assigned to two patients: Kevin Mitnick and a Kevin Mitnickson. Because of a highly complex programming flaw that is too intricate to discuss here, KAREL stored only the first seven characters of these patients' last names -- hence, the obvious mix up. Mitnick recovered fairly well from the wrong drug treatment; he had learned several tips about recovery from drug abuse programs.

The other patient, Mitnickson, was not as fortunate. His body reacted negatively to the medication, sending him into extreme convulsions. His family has filed a lawsuit against you.

Your lawyer has proceeded to inform you that similar suits are springing up throughout the country.
