Bloomberg Engineering: Women in Engineering Spotlight Conversation

Abstract:
Join Bloomberg for a panel conversation with female Software Engineers. Two panelists are recent Stanford alumni! They will share their 'day-in-the life' experiences, and also discuss topics, such as transitioning from university to industry, navigating mentorship, sponsorship, and support, and remaining authentic in the workplace.

We will be raffling off some cool Bloomberg swag to a member of the audience!


Speakers: 
Karen Li, Software Engineer
Karen Li was a Symbolic Systems-HCI major at Stanford (2020) and completed a coterm in CS (2021). She interned with Bloomberg last summer and returned to a full time role after graduating. During her internship, she worked with the Web Edit Tools team where she built tools for the news editors at bloomberg.com to use. At Stanford she was part of the varsity Synchronized Swimming team and involved in Cap and Gown, a women’s leadership organization.

Ella Hofmann-Coyle, Software Engineer
Ella Hofmann-Coyle graduated from Stanford with her MS ('21) and BS ('20) in computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence. She recently joined Bloomberg's AI group where she works on natural language processing and question understanding. While at Stanford, Ella was a community exec in Women in Computer Science and the solar car team's embedded code lead. Ella also conducted research within the Stanford Vision Lab and the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory.
