Lovers in Shakespeare's Plays

Lovers are in red; other characters are in blue. Two characters are connected if they exchange at least 30 lines, or if one character speaks more to the other than to anyone else. The shorter the line, the more two characters speak to each other. The size of a circle indicates how many lines in the play the character has. Visualization created by Emma Pierson using d3, Python, and the full text of Shakespeare's plays. For the full post, see here.

Addendum: Many people were curious about Much Ado About Nothing, so I added that as well! Tweet me @2plus2make5 if you have other things you'd like to see or if you'd like the data.
