Computer Science Department, through the Computer Forum, provides information and resources for obtaining internships and full time positions upon graduation. For the past 6 years, the Forum has partnered with the CDC to provide job resources to CS & EE students.

The Recruiting Program networks affiliated companies with Stanford CS/EE students. The Computer Forum hosts an annual Career Fair, schedules on-campus interviews, and special events where member companies and Stanford students come together to discuss employment and internships.

Faculty Opening

The Department of Computer Science at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor). We give high priority to the overall originality and promise of the candidate's work rather than the candidate's sub-area of specialization within Computer Science.

We are seeking applicants from all areas of Computer Science, including Foundations, Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Graphics, Computer Vision and Perception, Databases, and Human-Computer Interaction. We are also interested in applicants doing research at the frontiers of computer science with other disciplines, such as biology, neuroscience, and economics, and arts, with potential connections Stanford's main multidisciplinary initiatives: Human Health, Environment and Sustainability, the Arts and Creativity, and the International Initiative.

An earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue a program of research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching are required. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research. System and Network Administrator

The Computer Facilities group in the Stanford University Department of Computer Science (CSD-CF) is seeking a new system and network administrator. The CSD-CF team is responsible for providing core systems and network support to the CS Department for both administration and research activities. The CSD-CF team also provides computer system support to other departments and research labs within the University, ranging from the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab (SAIL) to groups in Psychology and Linguistics. This position offers a broad range of experience and opportunities for personal advancement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Occasional after hours or weekend work will be required for emergency outages. This individual works on complex system problems where analysis requires knowledge of many diverse system components, operating systems and non-standard hardware and software that make up the ever changing computing environment of the Computer Science Department and its research groups.

Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively, possess strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for customer service, and the ability to work with users at all levels of the University.

This committee will select the top applicants and nominate them for faculty positions at KAUST. However, KAUST will be responsible for actual recruiting decisions, appointment offers, and explanations of employment benefits. The recruited faculty will be employed by KAUST, not by Stanford. Faculty members in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science recruited by KAUST before September 2009 will be hosted at Stanford University as Visiting Fellows until KAUST opens in September 2009. At Stanford, these Visiting Fellows will conduct research with Stanford faculty and will occasionally teach courses.
